Award Criteria

A -  Academic Category

  1. The research must be published or accepted for publication in an international, peer-reviewed journal. For research published in English, the journal must be in the First Quartile (Q1) and have a minimum Impact Factor of 2. For research published in Arabic, it must be published in one of the peer-reviewed journals accredited by the Award and listed below.
  2. The research must be closely related to educational issues in the Arab region.
  3. The principal researcher must be affiliated with a university, research center, or educational institution in the Arab region, and this affiliation must be clearly stated in the research.
  4. The research must not have been published more than two years prior to the submission for the award.
  5. The research must not have received any previous awards or been submitted for other awards.
  6. Research derived from master's theses or doctoral dissertations will not be accepted.

B - School principals, teachers, and professional practitioners: 

  1. The principal researcher must be affiliated with a school or educational institution in the Arab region.
  2. The research must have been conducted within a school or educational institution in the Arab region.
  3. The research must present an original idea and address a pressing educational issue in the public or private education sector within the Arab region.
  4. The research must not have received any previous awards or been submitted for other awards.

C - Postgraduate students: 

  1. The research must be published or accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed educational journal.
  2. Research derived from master's or doctoral theses is accepted, but the original theses in their entirety are not accepted.
  3. The research must not have received any previous awards or been submitted for other awards.
  4. The principal researcher must be the student and not the supervising professor.

D - Undergraduate Students

  1. The research must be conducted under the supervision of a faculty member at one of the universities in the Arab region, either as a graduation project or as part of research assignments.
  2. The research must not have received any previous awards or been submitted for other awards.
  3. The research must present a new idea and address a contemporary educational issue.
  4. The research must be well-written, with a word count between 2,000 and 3,000 words.

E - “Excellence Award in Educational Research”: 

  1. The research must be published or accepted for publication in an international, peer-reviewed journal that is Q1 classified, has an Impact Factor of no less than 2.5, and is indexed in SCOPUS / Web of Science. A minimum of three published research papers in the same field is also required.
  2. The research should address one of the topics related to the applications of 'Artificial Intelligence' in the educational field and fall within one of the following specializations: Instructional Technology (or Educational Technology) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), It is also required that the publications demonstrate consistency and in-depth expertise within a single area of specialization.
  3. The research must be distinguished, original, and innovative.
  4. The research should include new theoretical and practical applications that contribute effectively to the development of education and the improvement of learning.
  5. The research must be conducted entirely in one of the Arab countries.
  6. All research methodologies must be approved by an ethical review board or a recognized scientific authority.
  7. The principal researcher must be affiliated with a university, research center, or educational institution in the Arab region.
  8. The research must not have received any previous awards or been submitted for other awards.
  9. The research must have been published within the last two years from the date of the award announcement.
  10. The research must not be derived from a master's or doctoral thesis.
  11. The research must clearly outline its practical implications.
  12. The research must not be the result of a commission by an educational institution, university, or educational center.
  13. The research must exhibit linguistic accuracy and be free of errors.
  14. The research must comply with the standards and methodologies of scientific research.
